A power-only connection from a 12V POWEREDUSB host to a DC barrel input, with plug dimensions and polarity defined for the equipment.
Goochain manufactures this 12V POWEREDUSB to DC barrel cable for equipment that receives power through a separate DC jack. The passive assembly routes the defined host auxiliary supply to the DC plug. It provides power only at the device end; communication uses a separate connection where required. The DC outer diameter, inner diameter, insertion length and center polarity are specified together. The reference build uses a DC 5525 plug, two 20 AWG conductors and a 3m length. Other lengths and DC plug sizes are available as separately defined configurations.
Goochain manufactures this power-only cable for POS printers and peripherals that receive 12V DC through a barrel jack. A 12V-keyed POWEREDUSB male connector connects to the host, and a DC barrel male plug supplies the equipment through its separate power input.
This assembly is part of our POWEREDUSB cable range. It suits checkout and kiosk installations where the host provides the required supply and device communication follows a separate connection.
The reference construction uses a DC 5525 male plug, two 20 AWG conductors and a 3 m cable. DC 5525 denotes a 5.5 mm outer diameter and a 2.5 mm inner diameter. These dimensions describe the reference plug; its insertion length and polarity must also match the equipment.
Other cable lengths, conductor sizes and DC plug configurations can be specified as separate builds. A 5.5 × 2.1 mm plug is an alternative size, with a different inner-contact fit. Equal outer diameters do not establish interchangeability.
The mating-jack drawing or accepted sample should define outer diameter, inner diameter and insertion length together. A recessed socket also requires enough clearance for the molded plug housing: matching the metal barrel dimensions alone may not allow the plug to seat fully.
Straight and right-angle DC exits can be reviewed against the installation layout. An angled plug may reduce rear clearance, but its cable exit must leave neighboring ports accessible and allow normal unplugging without pulling on the cable.
Center-positive and center-negative versions can use similar-looking housings. The approved wiring must assign supply and return to the correct contacts. Specify polarity from the equipment documentation, then use agreed part numbers or cable identification to distinguish versions during assembly and service.
12V pass-through, without voltage conversion. This passive cable routes the defined 12V host auxiliary supply to the DC plug. It does not regulate the output or convert a different source voltage to 12V. Host supply, device voltage and DC polarity must agree.
The required route length, operating current, peak current and allowable voltage drop guide conductor selection. A 20 AWG wire description alone does not establish the finished cable's current rating. The host output limit, connector ratings and operating conditions also need review.
Leave enough cable for the installation route and servicing without placing continuous tension on the DC jack. Define the length measurement points on the drawing so samples and repeat orders follow the same requirement.
The DC output carries power only. If the peripheral needs USB-B data and DC power from one host connection, a POWEREDUSB to USB-B and DC Power Y Cable is a separate configuration to review against both device sockets.
Goochain supports OEM production and ODM development of powered USB cable assemblies at its 5,000 m² facility in Dongguan, China. Our Factory & Quality process supports agreed checks for connector dimensions, workmanship, continuity, polarity, cable length and identification against the accepted drawing and sample.
For a quotation, send the DC jack drawing or reference cable, required polarity, operating and peak current, cable length and target quantity. Include a rear-panel photo for connector-clearance review and confirm the available 12V host supply.
Keep required fields minimal. Attach drawings/photos for accurate quoting.
Tip: A simple installation photo often saves 2–3 rounds of questions.
Quotation 1–2 days; development 15–20 days; mass production 20–25 days (project dependent).
Yes. Reference sample + requirements helps confirm drawings and test plan.
Depends on materials and complexity. We support prototypes and scalable mass production.
