The negative plate refers to the electrode with a negative potential in a battery, also known as the neutral electrode, negative electrode plate, hand-held negative plate for beauty devices, electrode plate, electrosurgical circuit board, patient plate, ESU grounding plate, and electrosurgical knife accessory. It is widely used in electrosurgery and is paired with various high-frequency electrosurgical units and RF devices to form a circuit with the positive electrode of the electrosurgical unit. Typically, it serves as the negative pole during cutting and coagulation in electrosurgical procedures.

 

Technically, there are two types of negative plates: single-pole negative plates (single-circuit negative plates) and bipolar negative plates (double-circuit negative plates).

 

  1. Single-circuit negative plates are a common form of circuit negative plate, and they are integrated with conductive metal foils, which are connected to the high-frequency electrosurgical unit via a circuit. The high-frequency electrosurgical unit detects whether it is safe and compatible based on capacitance effect. When there is no negative plate in the high-frequency electrosurgical unit, the unit will sound an alarm, reminding medical staff that the negative plate is not connected. Although this single-circuit negative plate is simple, it has certain drawbacks; it can only detect whether the circuit negative plate is connected, but not whether the negative plate is connected to the skin and effective.

 

  1. Bipolar negative plates have significant advantages over single-circuit negative plates in terms of safety. They can reliably detect whether the negative plate is effectively connected to the skin. Currently, most high-frequency electrosurgical procedures use bipolar negative plates. When this type of negative plate is applied to the skin, the circuit monitoring system in the high-frequency electrosurgical unit will check the quality of the contact area. If the contact area is insufficient or there is a short circuit, the high-frequency electrosurgical unit will generate an alarm and stop outputting in time. This type of negative plate greatly improves the safety of the procedure.

 

In terms of product use, negative plates are divided into silicone negative plates and disposable circuit board neutral electrodes.

 

  1. Silicone negative plates are mostly made of reusable conductive rubber materials with good and uniform conductivity. They are durable and can be reused, making them very popular in beauty device equipment. Our silicone negative plates can be customized with different plugs to adapt to different equipment uses, such as Lemo plugs, electrode pins, 6.3mm plugs, etc. We also have stainless steel circuit boards.

  1. The neutral electrode plate in the disposable circuit board can only be used once and is a disposable sterile product. It is available in two configurations: with or without wires. The disposable negative electrode plate is suitable for use with various highfrequency electric knife hosts and radio frequency instruments in electro surgery, forming a circuit with the positive pole of the high-frequency electric knife host. It is typically used as the negative electrode during cutting and coagulation in electro surgery, such as with an electric knife pen.
