USB-C Male to Male FPC Ribbon Cable

Goochain manufactures custom USB-C male to male FPC ribbon cables for equipment that needs a flat connection between two USB-C ports. This version combines two straight male plugs with an insulated flexible printed circuit, without a full outer overmold. The cable length, FPC outline and connector arrangement can be developed around the space inside your device.

Product Specifications

Item Specification

Connection USB-C male to USB-C male
Connector layout Straight plugs at both ends
Cable construction Insulated FPC without a full outer overmold
Length and FPC outline Customized to the approved drawing
Data, power and video Defined for the selected cable configuration
Supply Custom OEM cable assembly

Flat Routing Inside Compact Equipment

A round cable can leave an unwanted loop between closely spaced ports. An FPC ribbon cable follows a defined route along a housing surface, with its outline and end positions matched to the assembly. This can help when a cover, bracket or adjacent board limits the available space in a compact dock, embedded controller or other enclosed device.

The straight plugs need room for the connector bodies and a gradual transition into the flexible circuit. Their orientation should allow the cable to reach both ports without being twisted into place. The drawing should account for the installed route and cover clearance, as well as the distance between the ports.

FPC Construction Without a Full Outer Overmold

This cable uses a flexible printed circuit rather than an ordinary flat wire bundle. It retains the insulating layers required by its design; the absence of a full outer overmold does not mean the conductors are exposed.

For a male-to-male connection with a covered cable body, see our overmolded flat USB-C cable. That version uses a different outer construction and connector layout, so its dimensions and electrical specifications should be reviewed separately.

Custom FPC Cable Manufacturing

Goochain can develop the FPC outline and connector arrangement together, then supply samples for installation and electrical evaluation before the production design is released. Our manufacturing work includes connector integration, assembly and electrical inspection.

Data rate, charging power and display functions are specified for the selected assembly. The flat shape alone does not determine these capabilities. A cable installed once inside a housing also needs a different mechanical review from one that moves during use.

To help us review your cable, provide:

  • Port locations, connector orientation and available installation space.
  • Required cable length, routing path and any obstacles inside the enclosure.
  • Data rate, charging power and any required display function.
  • A drawing or marked-up enclosure photo, installation conditions and expected quantity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an FPC cable or an FFC cable?

It uses a flexible printed circuit (FPC). Flat cable and ribbon cable describe its shape, while FFC refers to a different conductor construction.

Can Goochain supply custom lengths and shapes?

Yes. We can adjust the length, FPC outline and end arrangement to suit the device. Include the route around obstacles, rather than only the straight-line distance between ports.

Does every version support 80Gbps and 240W?

No. These capabilities are available within the Goochain range, but they are not standard specifications for every FPC cable. If your project requires both, they need to be specified and verified for the same assembly.

Does bare FPC mean exposed conductors?

No. Here it means the cable has no full outer overmold. The circuit retains the insulating layers required by its design.

FAQ

Lead time?

Quotation 1–2 days; development 15–20 days; mass production 20–25 days (project dependent).

Can you build from a sample?

Yes. Reference sample + requirements helps confirm drawings and test plan.

MOQ?

Depends on materials and complexity. We support prototypes and scalable mass production.
